Print | PDFIt is with deep sadness that Laurier recognizes the tragic loss of life on Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752.
My sincere condolences to the families and friends of so many Canadians, Iranians and other nationalities who lost loved ones and colleagues in this tragedy, including those at Laurier who are feeling this loss personally.
The loss to many Canadian universities of their students, faculty, staff and alumni has been overwhelming and is utterly devastating.
Laurier’s flags have been lowered this week in honour of those who lost their lives. At University Senate on Thursday, we recognized with a moment of silence the heart wrenching loss of this tragedy and of members of the Canadian academic community.
For those wishing to recognize the loss of students from the Waterloo community, a book of condolences for Mansour Esnaashary Esfahani and Marzieh (Mari) Foroutan, two University of Waterloo students who were among the 176 people on Flight PS752, has been made available at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in Waterloo.
