Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

General graduate students are students possessing an honours bachelor's degree or equivalent who are taking one or more graduate courses for credit but are not proceeding to a degree or a diploma at Laurier. Such students are admitted at the discretion of the dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in consultation with the program coordinator. Courses taken by general graduate students are not normally intended to be used for credit toward a degree in a graduate program at Laurier.

Application Checklist

After you have submitted your OUAC application, paid the non-refundable application fee and Laurier has received your application, you'll receive an email from gradadmissions@wlu.ca advising you to upload the additional required documentation to LORIS, Laurier’s Online Registration and Information System.

An application for admission as a general graduate student must include:

  • The Application Summary, which is generated after you complete the OUAC application.
  • Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work.

Please see Step 2 for information on how to submit required documentation.

Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential to graduate studies at Laurier. Consult the International Applicants page for more information about English proficiency tests.
