Waterloo – Wilfrid Laurier University’s Faculty of Music will host a gala event featuring Isabel Bayrakdarian, a four-time Juno Award-winning opera singer and Laurier honorary degree recipient, and the Penderecki String Quartet, Laurier’s Quartet-in-Residence. The dinner and concert will also launch the university’s Making Space for Music fundraising campaign to renovate and expand the Faculty of Music facilities and create a striking new entranceway for the university on University Avenue.

Speakers: Wilfrid Laurier University Chancellor Eileen Mercier; President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy; Dean of the Faculty of Music Glen Carruthers; fourth-year music performance student Emma Monod.
The performers will be rehearsing in the Lazaridis Hall first floor lecture hall between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 14. Members of the media are welcome to attend the dress rehearsal or the event. Media are welcome to record the performance but are encouraged to set up equipment prior to the concert at 8:30 p.m.
