The ergonomics program managed by Safety, Health, Environment & Risk Management (SHERM) was developed in order for you to work safely and efficiently and to optimize your comfort while at work.

Ergonomics applies scientific theory, principles and methods to explore the relationships between the worker, job tasks and the workplace. Understanding how the body interacts with their work has helped to create standards and guidelines for the design of physical and cognitive working environments. In our Laurier community we perform a variety of jobs with different physical and cognitive demands. Our ergonomics program can help by evaluating and providing solutions to different work-related pains and discomforts through an ergonomic assessment of your workstation set-up.
