Read Laurier's Accessibility Bridge Plan: 2023-2026
Beginning in early 2026, the employment equity and accessibility officer will lead the work of engaging community members with disabilities, in collaboration with campus accessibility and other equity leaders, to review and update Laurier’s accessibility plan, co-creating a five-year plan to be implemented from 2027-2031.
We also await the release of the final proposed Postsecondary Education Standards from the Ontario government, which will greatly influence the goals and strategies we seek to implement future forward at Laurier.
As such, Laurier created the Bridge Accessibility Plan in 2023 – guiding our work through 2026, while comprehensive consultation and plan creation readies us for 2027.
We invite you to review our annual accomplishments documenting results in progress towards achieving our plans in our accessibility timeline.
Reporting on our compliance with AODA is required every two years. As of 2025 (a reporting year), the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility requires that the compliance report – as submitted – be publicly available on our website.
Integral to our continued accessibility work is our ongoing goal of Laurier being an environment in which the channels for communicating feedback about accessibility are always open, and where such concerns are addressed in a timely manner, and in a way that respects the dignity and independence of all people.
If you are interested in learning more about Laurier’s accessibility planning, and/or have feedback about how the university provides goods, services and/or facilities to persons with disabilities, please contact Employment Equity and Accessibility at accessibility@wlu.ca who will then direct to campus partners as relevant.
Feedback regarding accessibility-related issues can also always be directed to the department offering the goods, services or facilities.
