Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I retired from Wilfrid Laurier in 2016.
I received my PhD with a dissertation on Hegel’s political philosophy from the University of Toronto in 1981 and my MPhil with a thesis on Aristotle’s metaphysics from the University of Toronto in 1973.
Prior to joining Laurier, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Political Science at the University of Alberta (1982-1984), and a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Victoria (1978-1979). I also taught at the University of Alberta (1981-1982) and at the Department of Philosophy, Universidad de Chile (March 1973-1981).
