Bruce McConomy teaches intermediate financial accounting to undergraduate and MBA students. He also co-teaches several of Laurier’s PhD seminar courses in accounting. Bruce has articles published in Contemporary Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, the Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal. He also has articles published in Issues in Accounting Education, the Journal of Accounting Case Research, CA Magazine and CMA Management. Bruce is also a co-author of the best selling “Kieso” Intermediate Accounting textbook.
Financial accounting, earnings forecasts, auditing and environmental accounting, corporate governance, initial public offerings, voluntary disclosure and accounting history.
Professor McConomy has co-supervised several accounting PhD in Management (Accounting) students who recently completed their doctoral studies at Laurier: Dr. Yan Jin (2016) and Dr. Justin Mindzak (2017). He also acted as the external examiner on the dissertation committee of Dr. Mohammad Hendijani Zadeh (Concordia 2020), Dr. Rozhin Yousefvand-Mansouri (McGill 2018) and Dr. Shahid Khan (Calgary, 2016).
