Hamid Noori is a Professor of Operations and Innovation Management. He obtained his Ph.D. in Operations and Production research from the Ivey Business School, Western University in canada. He was the founding Director of both the Research Centre for Management of Technology (REMAT) and the Ph.D. & Research-based Masters programs at the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Lazaridis EMTM Program.
Professor Noori's teaching responsibilities are in the area of innovation and operations management. He was Laurier's Chair in Enterprise Integration & Technology Management from 2001 to 2010 and the Visiting Chair Professor of Management of Technology (under the Distinguished Scholars Scheme) at the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2002 to 2012. He has also been a visiting scholar at many institutions, including at the Haas School of Business, UC - Berkeley, Xian Jiaotong University in China, USC's Marshall School of Business, Helsinki School of Economics & Business Administration, Warsaw School of Economics, Czech Management Centre (CMC), SIRIM in Malaysia, Fudan University and Tsinghua (Qinghua) University in China.
Professor Noori's research interests are mainly in (a) Innovations and Supply Chain Interfaces & Structure, and (b) Learning & Technological Innovation in Scaled Enterprises and Networks. He has supervised over 50 graduate theses or major projects and has conducted research for the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Manufacturing Research Corporation of Ontario (MRCO), the National Center for Management research & Development (NCMRD), Department of Regional Industrial Expansion (DRIE), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and corporations such as F.A.G. AG, MITRA, Chrysler, COMDEV, Ontario Hydro and Bell Canada. He is the author/co-author of seven books and one conference proceeding, several monographs, over 100 papers, and three commercial software packages. Professor Noori was the recipient of the University Research Professor Award (Wilfrid Laurier University's highest academic distinction) in 1993.

Professor Noori was the recipient of the University Research Professor Award in 1993. He previously served as Laurier Chair in Enterprise Integration and Technology Management from 2001 to 2011 and was the Visiting Chair Professor of Management of Technology (under the Distinguished Scholars Scheme) at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology at the 12th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in 2001. His case, Danier Leather, Inc., won the International Case Competition Award sponsored by the Production and Operations Management Society and Indiana University in 2001. Professor Noori has taught and made presentations in many academic institutions in Canada, the U.S., Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. His publications appear in Management Science, POMS, Decisions Sciences, Naval Research Quarterly, Interfaces, IEEE Transactions, and many others. He has authored more than 100 papers and 4 books.
At Laurier, he has supervised three PhD students and over 50 graduate projects and theses. He currently has one doctoral student under supervision.
