Yellow Brick Wall

Welcome to the Yellow Brick Wall

The Yellow Brick Wall is the exhibition venue at the Brantford campus of Wilfrid Laurier University that aims to provide opportunities for appreciation and enjoyment of Canadian art.

Our mission is to contribute to the growth of Laurier's students, to promote dialogue and encourage reflection of the diversity and culture in our community and beyond.

Admission is free and open to all members of the community.

Artist Submissions

Submissions for consideration can be made via email to bsanders@wlu.ca and should include:

• A maximum of 20 digital images (jpg files, no larger than 1MB each) representing the exact pieces you wish to include in the show. Each digital image must be provided in correct orientation and may include a copyright watermark. Digital images may be attached or provided via a cloud link.
• A numbered image list including the title, year, medium and dimensions of each of the works of art.
• An artist's statement.
• A curriculum vitae (résumé).

Selection Process

Submissions are juried by an Art Advisory Committee when received. Artist submissions are assessed on their artistic and creative merit, both conceptually and visually, as received. Works must be two-dimensional and speak in creative and critical ways.

Space Details

The exhibition space is an original brick wall located within one of the historic buildings on the Brantford campus (circa 1877). It has been fully restored and equipped with a ceiling-mounted security rod system. The brick wall is roughly 59 linear feet long by 10 feet tall.

Additional Details

• Only works included in the submission may be included in the exhibition.
• Art pieces must be wired with as little slack as possible.
• Artists are responsible for the transportation of their artwork to and from the gallery.
• Laurier provides an artist fee and covers the cost of certain promotional material.
• The accessible entrance is located at the rear of the building via the adjacent driveway.
