Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

April 11, 2023
For Immediate Release
When: Thursday, April 20 at 12:15 p.m.
Where: Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus’s Alumni Field
What: Meet and capture Laurier leadership, staff, donors, alumni, students and Board of Governors as they gather on Laurier’s Waterloo campus to celebrate the reopening of Alumni Field.
The event marks the nearing completion after a year of donor-supported renovations which will be finalized in late summer, including new turf, press box, storage, scoreboard and centrefield gateway feature. The enhancements will increase the footprint of the field to FIFA-regulation size, making it more suitable for soccer, rugby and lacrosse competitions. The renovated field will be available for varsity athletics, recreation and community rental.
Media are welcome to attend the event starting at 12:15 pm in Studio 4 of the Athletic Complex on the Laurier Waterloo Campus. The group will move out onto the field partway through the event for ribbon-cutting and photos.
