Waterloo, situated one hour west of Toronto, is the top technology and insurance hub in Canada. According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2018, Waterloo Region is ranked third in Canada for technology, after Toronto and Montreal. The region is also home to a several research centres and think tank institutions, such as the Perimeter Institute and the Centre for International Governance Innovation, as well as firms in the Automotive, Advanced Manufacturing and Business and Financial Services sector.
Laurier, in existence since 1911, has been consistently ranked among Canada's top comprehensive research universities. The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics is over 52 years old and is one of the Canada's leading business schools. With more than 120 full-time faculty and 6,000 students enrolled in full- and part-time studies (across PhD, MSc, MFin, MABE, MBA, BBA, multiple double degree programs, as well as diploma options), Lazaridis School is also one of the largest.
We offer full-time, research-intensive PhD program in Management with five possible specialization fields: in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, OB/HRM and Supply chain and Operations; and MSc program in Management with specialization in Marketing and OB/HRM. Our research programs are geared towards providing the students with necessary theoretical and quantitative training to process complex decisions facing the business world.
We provide a supportive and personalized approach that enables our students to get involved in state-of-the-art research. Our candidates graduate with skills, knowledge and experience in demand by academia, industry and government organizations. Our graduates are equipped to teach in top business schools, conduct leading research, evaluate policy decisions and interact with key researchers in their fields.
