Starting your program in the spring term means that some of your items on your incoming student checklist need to be done in a different way. Here’s the information you need to help you start your program in May, including your comprehensive incoming student checklist.

1. Accept Your Offer and Submit Final Documents
Make sure that you accept your offer of admission by April 8, 2023, unless another deadline is stated on your offer of admission.
Submit Your Final, Official Documents
If your offer of admission is conditional, you must send in your final official documents before the deadline of Apr. 21, 2023, unless another deadline is stated on your offer letter. You should read your offer letter carefully for all conditions listed. Read instructions for how to submit your final documents and what we consider to be an official document.
Learn about your alternate offer of admission, if applicable, by going to the “My Admissions Info” tab in your applicant portal.
2. Register for Courses
After you accept your offer of admission, it will take about 48 hours before you are able to register for courses. Course registration happens through LORIS (Laurier’s Online Registration and Information System). You should register for courses as soon as possible.
The first day of class is Monday, May 8, 2023.
Laurier's Transition and Learning Services team is offering one-to-one support with course selection.
Responding to the recent increase of COVID-19 cases in our local communities, Wilfrid Laurier University will keep its mandatory face-covering policy in effect until May 31. We will reassess these requirements at the end of May.COVID-19 Face Covering Policy
You should always refer to the academic dates and deadlines section of the undergraduate academic calendar for course registration deadlines.
The last day to add spring term courses is May 19, 2023.
Course registration is conducted through LORIS (Laurier's Online Registration and Information System). This is the same website that you will use to pay your tuition and fee bill and check your student records.
Use the online course registration guide to assist you in your course selection and to help you navigate your way through course registration in LORIS.
You’ll find important dates, course information, information on paying tuition and more in this guide. If you have questions or experience any issues with course registration, contact Service Laurier.
- Course availability for the spring term may be limited because the majority of course registration happens in June and the following months for courses beginning in the fall term. If you aren’t able to register for a course or the course section you need, check LORIS every day because course availability changes daily.
- Service Laurier is your one-stop shop for all Enrolment Services questions as a Laurier student, including tuition and fees, student awards and registration questions.
- We recommend that you meet with an academic advisor to help you plan your degree requirements.
- Laurier International provides support for international students studying at Laurier. If you are an international student, it is recommended you contact Laurier International and introduce yourself.
3. Complete Your Student Registration and Pay Your Fees
- Activate your Laurier email account. You should check your email regularly to make sure you don’t miss important updates from Laurier. Email is the official means of communication between the university and you.
- Register with the Accessible Learning Centre (if applicable).
- Enter your Social Insurance Number (SIN) in LORIS for tax purposes.
- Pay your fees before the deadline, which is typically the first day of classes of each term.
- Explore the ways you can get financial assistance.
- Get your OneCard. Your OneCard is your student identification card and bus pass, and you can put money or a meal plan on it to use at campus vendors.
4. Access Incoming Student Support
There is specific Laurier 101 programming and support for students beginning at Laurier in the spring term.
Transition and Learning Services is here to help you succeed in university – from the day you accept your offer to the first week of classes and beyond. Our team is ready to answer your questions and make sure you are prepared for your time at Laurier.

5. Get to Know the Current Students' Website
Laurier has a website for current students, where the university provides resources and facilitates important updates to you. Find information about your program, program requirements, tuition and fees, campus services, parking and much more on this website.
The university is regularly updating this website with new information related to COVID-19 and resources to assist students.
