Here are additional estimated fees to consider in addition to tuition when budgeting for your studies at Laurier. All costs listed are estimates for two terms for the 2024/25 academic year. These fees are subject to change.
Student fees range from $2,694 to $4,537 CAD, depending on your faculty and program. The student fees also include a mandatory $756 CAD fee for participation in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP).
For budgeting purposes, we recommend you use $4,537 CAD.
The costs of textbooks and other academic supplies can vary depending on your program.

All residences on the Brantford campus are apartment-style. You will have either a single bedroom or a double bedroom that you share with one other person.
All students living in residence are required to purchase a Convenience Plan. You can use your Convenience Plan to buy groceries, purchase food on campus or dine out at select local residences.

Important Notes
The President’s Gold entrance scholarship, granted upon admission, is worth $6,000 CAD per year for international students and is renewable for subsequent years, provided that renewal requirements are met annually.
The Stay Golden at Laurier scholarship is for international undergraduate students who begin their studies in fall or winter 2025 and achieve an admissions average of 80% or higher. In the first year, the scholarship ranges in value from $1,500 to $6,000 CAD, and as long as you meet the renewal requirements, you will receive $5,000 CAD in each upper year of your program at Laurier.
The prestigious Laurier Scholars Award is an annual entrance scholarship that was established in 2021 to offer high-achieving students the opportunity to participate in a dynamic learning environment that will foster innovative thinking and ethical, visionary leadership. This award is worth up to a maximum of $40,000 over four years.
This scholarship requires an application, the deadline for which is typically in February of each year. Application forms for fall 2025 will be made available in early December 2024. If you are selected as a Laurier Scholar, you will be notified by email in mid-May 2025.
Inspiring Lives Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $5,000 CAD and are awarded each year to incoming international undergraduate students who inspire lives of leadership and purpose in their communities and through extracurricular activities.
Applications for the scholarship open each year in the spring. To apply, students must complete the application and submit a video, no longer than two minutes, describing how they inspire lives of leadership and purpose.
Students are invited to schedule an appointment with an enrolment advisor to discuss the scholarship and their application, or to email us at international@wlu.ca for additional support.
Every year, you can apply for competitive scholarships, awards and bursaries by completing an online student profile about yourself. Awards are granted based on the information you provide, including your interests, involvement, financial need, academic achievement and more. The application process begins in June and there are up to three profiles to complete once you accept your offer. Scholarships can range in value from $250 to $5,000 CAD

In your upper years, you will automatically be considered for in-course scholarships based on the grade point average (GPA) of your Laurier courses from the previous academic year. In-course scholarships begin at a GPA of 10.5 (approximately 85%) and above. You could receive between $1,250 and $1,500 CAD annually.
You are eligible to apply to on-campus student positions. In addition, the International Student Work Experience Program (ISWEP) provides a limited number of international students with part-time employment opportunities on our Waterloo and Brantford campuses. Laurier’s Career Centre also assists international students in exploring and applying to part-time positions off campus.
Get confident in managing money through Dollars and Sense, Laurier’s program to help students manage their finances. Access resources, workshops and personalized support for financial planning. You can even attend workshops right at home in residence.
Our financial literacy specialist meets with students one-to-one to help them create a personalized budget. Regular review and revision of your budget will help you achieve your financial goals.
The tuition due date for each term typically happens during the first week of the start of the term.
Make sure you pay your tuition and fees so that they are received and applied to your LORIS account by the due date to avoid late fees:

You are also required to pay a tuition deposit of $2,000 CAD within two weeks of accepting your offer.
If you also require a provincial attestation letter (PAL), we will initiate the PAL request on your behalf once your tuition deposit has been processed.
